Journey's Unfinished Documentation

I was sleep the night before our departure. I was furios about how uncomfiortable I am trying to divide my time between going back to bed or going online. I was chatting with my fellow passengers to Boracay. With the excitement within you'll never know what to do next. All of my stuffs are tightly packed. I made a tideous rundown of my checklist. This is my first time in Bora- I reminded myself over and over again. Me and my mom had a quick shopping in Ayala for some grocery items and I'm breaking my neck looking for that boardshorts I'm dying to buy. I was hopping between Metro Ayala then down to Bench where I finally decided to buy one of those dark red boardshorts. It was nice but pricey. I'm not fond of buying expensive stuff but I give in this time. It was almost 9pm when we got home. I excitedly open the plastic that we brought. I watched tv till i decided to go online and sleep in between chatting with K-fed, Urbin and Ellice. The night was so humid and I could hardly sleep. Come 5am I put on my Gap jacket and jogged the early morning of V. Rama Avenue. I thought it would rain but I was wrong. Around 630am I was sweating inside the gym as I tried to do some last minute workout. The feeling was great. I feel so light & I'm very excited. Come 7am after taking my breakfast I send out text messages to all the passenger asking for some updates on their locations and what's happenin around them. I watched MTV and waited for their reply. It was 8:15am and I was so anxious. I have packed everything and the etkts were ready and I'm still sweating. I bid farewell to my mom and took the hassle of jeepney riding.  My agents, Richie, Joan, K-fed were waiting right infront of Chinoy Fusion. Then Aima, Urbin followed next then the morning girls Marie & Anna arrived with Nanda. I knew the morning was long. And it was. We took the taxi out of IT Park and went to the airport. We checked-in after each one is infront of the counter. Our seat assignments we're on row 20 and 21. This will certainly offer a great view for first time flyer Nanda, Gila & Marie. Outside the building everything is hot. It's evident on the burning runway and the scourcing wide body of a PAL A330 jet nearby. Our flight was delayed for 30 mins and we all waited. I simply thought that we're the only passengers onboard but I was wrong as strings of commuters gather at the waiting area. The turn around aircraft was from Davao and when the call was made to board the plane when excitedly walk and photos were taken every minute before boarding. The flight was fun-filled and everyone put on their best smiles. I always love when the engine goes full throttle. The feel for speed was satisfied. The flight only took us 30 minutes to complete in a cute run-way in Kalibo Terminal. When we get out at the exit row, more shots were taken. I just love the contrast of the blue sky against the yellow livery of Cebu Pacific. The 2 hours  bus ride follows and we all sleep in between. Everyone is excited even at this moment. At the back of my head I was thinking about Cebu and my mama who  was left at home with Sasa. Then the bus reached at the Caticlan Jetty port and we met Irish Jade. Then we took the boat ride for 15 minutes and another guide meet us and guided us to a white multicab. The cab took us to the interior of the island. It was jampacked with all kinds of store. LBC was even on the island which reminds me to pay my bills. We made an unexpected entry at the back of Talipapa. Boracay Courtyard is 5 minutes away and the ambiance wasn't that great at all. But getting inside the room and you'll feel relaxed and energized. The comfort room is clean and the space was just right. The room can acommodate up to 5 persons and it has a big TV infront of the bed. The bed was so enticing I could almost sleep the entire day. But I was standing on the island where the best beaches can be found so why waste my time. After we settle down we take a look at the beach and we saw it and it was so crowded all I care to see is the water but it's low tide but still a lot of people are swimming and a lot of water activities were happening. On the beach sides, people are trying to get ready to prepare dinner for  the night. We head on to Mang Inasal to eat our dinner. Everyone was tired and exhausted. In boracay food is not an issue. As long as you have the spirit for fun you'll definitely love the place. To be continued....

Memories from Boracay

THE WORLD HAS DECIDED

Congratulations to BORACAY IDOL 2007-Fernando “NANDA” Enad. This very hardworking agent from the travel account of PeopleSupport, is from Sagbayan Bohol and a former educator. She’ll enjoy his first ride onboard the Airbus A319 on his first journey through the air this 2007. And the destination? No less than BORACAY. Accompanied by 10 of PS “hottest”, they’ll explore the island for 5 days and 4 nights coupled with multiple adventures.

To those who voted for the last 30 days we thank you and I hope you'll be back on this site to check the photos. To all the travellers on this itinerary -THANKS A LOT GUYS. This is not a journey without you on my side. I would like to thank CEBU DINERO for arranging the land portion of our package. You may reach them through their site-www.cebudinero.com. Guaranteed lowest rate and excellent pre-travel and post-travel assistance.

TIPS BEFORE WE GO

We’re the “PRE-PARED” traveler. We never walk out that door and enter the jet without the essentials even the tiniest detail that may risk the excitement along the journey. Soon you’ll realize that the real traveler sees what others don't. They never take their chances on failing or dismay. Below are some tips to have a stress-free vacation in Boracay.

  1. COINS AND SMALL PAPERBILLS. Be ready with your coins and small denomination of paper bills. This may sound disturbing to you but believe me lots of 1 peso, 5peso and 10peso coins really help especially when you’re traveling in groups. It eliminates the hassle in collecting everyone’s share right after lunch or dinner. And when buying small stuffs, this will save you time as you don’t have to wait for the change from the cashier. So when I say “23pesos rata” Are you ready for your 10peso+ 2pcs 5pesos and 3pc of 1peso or you gonna give me a whole 100peso bill?
  2. PLASTIC BAGS. Did you experience going home from a beach outing and your Jansport backpack is all wet from the inside? It can easily be prevented by bringing plastic bag when you travel. You can take advantage of several purposes of a plastic bag from containing your wet items to wrapping the pasalubong and it can help you sort out the dirty laundry too.
  3. MEDICINE KIT. We all hope that every journey will be safe for everyone but you just don’t have control of everything. Every now and then someone will be sick for whatever reasons. So packed some betadine for cuts, alcohol to disinfect, cotton balls, band-aids, and some tablets like diatabs, neozep,  medicol, biogesic, alaxan and gardan for migraine. Don’t forget to include your happy pill like your personal multivitamins + minerals. It’s difficult when the fun stops right  when you’re about to begin.
  4.  BATHROOM KIT. Don’t rely your vanity kit to be completed in the destination you’re going to. What if you’re desired toothbrush for your teeth is not available? What if your favorite soap for your sensitive skin is out of stock? Are you willing to try something else? Situations like these may ruin your vacation as you need to take a shower break daily and you brush your teeth every meal.  So one week before your departure flight drop by a Watson store and start buying your beauty soap, together with your favorite shampoo plus conditioner, toothpaste, toothbrush, mouth wash and facial wash. Don’t leave the ear buds, the dental floss, loofa and you’re antiperspirant or deodorant too.
  5. MAY I BORROW. Some people just don’t get it and ITEMS NUMBER  1-4 were either they forgot or they just don’t wanna bring it-intentionally. Personally I hate the idea that someone is asking from anybody because they forgot to bring their soap or shampoo. Come on we’re all grown ups. Let’s be responsible enough to bring what we need. Remember the basics. It’s ITEMS 1-4.
  6. LEARN TO CLICK. Not all of us are familiar with another type or brand of digital camera. Often times than not, the owner of that slick IXUS is usually the one who ends up not having a tiny space in the picture. So offer a hand to take the shots by learning the basics of clicking the right button, taking the right angle of the picture and creating a perfect composition. You may not be on that great photo but surely they’ll remember who took it.
  7. BE ON TIME. Since we’re traveling as a group please be considerate of others time. If you think you need more time in the comfort room than the rest, then do it ahead of time. Don’t spend too much time on the shower washing your long hair or shaving your long legs. The worst thing that could happen in a sweet vacation is for someone to wait for you until you’re done.
  8. TRY TO ORGANIZE. Can you remember where you put your I.D. for the guards to check them before check-in? Do you know which bag that contains your attire for tomorrow’s event or how much money you have in your black wallet? These are simple queries yet failure to know the WHATs and the WHEREs may lead you to feel worry and anxious if you forget something at home or you just don’t know where it is.  This feelings should be avoided and the only way to do it is be organize.

Why Boracay?

It was supposed to be my 2nd flight itinerary this 2007. I almost book a ticket and took the maiden flight of Cebu Pacific last March 7 for their new 4 times weekly service between Cebu and Kalibo even if I’m traveling alone. I was so obsessed of the fare at 99pesos and my only chance of not being lost while traveling is an old-friend of mine-MARY who happens to have a business in Boracay. The fare sale closed and my dream was over (that’s what I thought). Until one afternoon I bumped my travel buddy-DAVE then we decided to take the Palawan journey. What’s in Palawan was different from what is in Boracay. So I extensively planned on going to Boracay this summer then Anna and Iris Jade, my 2 best performing agents  wanted to go to bora too so I thought why not travel together with them. Looking at the boracay pictures and reading it’s fantastic reviews online and you’ll figure out why  the beaches of Boracay are so popular even in abroad. According to my friend who happened to be there said that it’s sand were the finest he’d ever seen. The island is terrific and it’s a good place to relax. So we planned to purchased our plane tickets, we set a travel dates, we endured price change on the tickets then one day the fare sale happens again. I took it as a sign that it’s about time to travel. The number of passengers who intend to join increased significantly  from 3pax to 10 pax. K-Fed,Aima, Richie, Joan, Nanda , Marie, and even Urbin let me purchased their tickets through my credit card and whalla-etickets confirmed for 9 passengers with Cebu Pacific onboard their Airbus A319.Iris Jade will eventually catch up in Kalibo. So we have a ticket but no place to stay? So I contacted my personal travel agent-Ann (from www.cebudinero.com who arranged my palawan trip) to create a land package itinerary. Surprisingly, she got a Deluxe room at Boracay Courtyard in station 2 for a 5days 4nights stay for only 3375.00peso per person + free buffet breakfast for all. The package also includes transportation to Caticlan jetty port and the ferry transfer to the island which we badly needed for first timers. The package looks stress-free and  everyone was so excited so I arranged the payment scheme for everyone’s convenience. Last Monday-April 16, 2007 we paid the initial deposit of 16875.00pesos to their account and this morning I got the receipt and the confirmation from my travel agent.  The final payment is set on May 1 for the land portion and the airfare. Personally, no matter how stressed I am at work I’m looking forward to this journey.

The bright glow of the sun, the cool sea breeze, the white powdery sand and the panoramic view are just the few stuffs to watch for.  I’ve planned this long time ago with some other friends but it was delayed due to some issues and now I can’t believe that I’m going. In my travelers log, I already wrote all the necessary stuffs needed for a summer beach outing. I’m working on to delete some pictures in my digicam. Most importantly I’m saving a lot of money and I worked out and jogged too. See you in paradise.
