BORACAY 2008

I Missed you-ANCHOR'S AWAY.

The sky showed us some simple warning. That today’s departure will never be easy but we still put on our best smile. The sky started to shower as I leave the house telling goodbyes to my mama and my niece Sasa who was still sleeping. I was on my way to the office when the sky started to pour. I was wearing my Levi’s jacket and my Bench shorts. The Benetton trolley was heavy. It was obvious that I’m going somewhere as a lot of people asked as to where am I going. The 4th floor was very busy but a few heads are saying farewell to their friends so I did a few hours back to my agents who will be supless for the next 3 nights.

When we decided to go to the airport the rain pours so hard no one dares to cross the road or get a cab without an umbrella. This was a surprise to me as an umbrella was not listed on my checklist. So we brave the waters and get 2 cabs so we can check-in early knowing that the 830am departure is one of the most sought after travel time of Cebu Pacific as they operate an Airbus A320 on that schedule. Too bad the flight was cancelled not because of the rain but due to a mechanical failure. I was so upset. We’re all tired. We waited for 4 hours, uneasy and wary that we might arrive in Baguio too late. And yes that happened when we arrive at Hotel Veniz around 11pm. It was late, cold and I’m not feeling well.  The hotel was located at the very heart of the city. Right where the skywalk juxtaposed with another skywalk and there was a view of SM, UB and Burnham Park. The room was awesome.

One of the nicest property I’ve ever stayed since I started traveling around. The bathroom was the best with good lighting and easy control of the hot and cold shower. The bed gave me some generous resting time. We spent the second day roaming around Baguio city. We bought our souvenirs and a lot of photoshots took place. It was very short but it’s worth it. The city was covered with fog around 5pm hovering the city like something is burning somewhere. That time I was already chilling as the temperature started to drop. We visited  SM Baguio which is the only SM that has no aircondition unit. From there we ate our dinner. As soon as we arrive at the hotel everyone was crazy packing all the stuff. I was worried about my strawberry jams, peanut brittle and the sensitive Lengua de Gato. Then Bailey’s irish cream started to pour on a single shot glass filled with ice cubes. I was on the bed trying to make myself useful but I fell asleep suspecting that the drink was a downer.

So I transferred to another room and spread my body to the single bed. I woke up around  5am and everyone was asleep. I sneak to the ukay-ukay and bought myself a Giordano jacket worth 180pesos and a Cathay Pacific holiday bag for my pasalubong. Then the Big Friday came and as plan we need to experience the iMAX version of Harry Potter at the Mall of Asia. I've been to iMax last year and it was a cool treat from Jun2x-the cousin of Dave. With the cost of the ticket no wonder they take credit card as a form or payment.Anna did not join us as she already watched the movie so she accompanied Nanda who  went to the skating rink and they waited for us til the movie ends. It was an amazing experience. The only 3D portion was the last 20 minuted but it was the best part also to portray in 3D. Everyone was amaze as the glass shatters right infront of us the wizards cast their spell of destruction. After the movie Urbin tried his luck in the skating rink while Richie went to see Tita Lorna Tolentino. While the rest spent the whole afternoon going to Greenhills shopping for more items. I suggest you try this place for a good bargain. Then we went to G4, have dinner and went to a place near Robinson Cybergate and have a drinking spree with Art, Ellice. Al,  Nanda. K-fed hang out with his Chinese friends in a coffee shop. We went home around 2am tired and sweaty.

Then Saturday came and it’s time for Enchanted Kingdom. We dropped by Tagaytay and have lunch in an inihaw restaurant. I got the best driver in town-LARRY who was kind enough to travel us around with his own Starex Van. We even manage to buy some pineapples along the road going to Laguna as we proceed to Enchanted Kingdom. The weather was very cooperative and allow us to have fun. It was the best experience I have for a theme park in the Philippines. The rides we’re great. I have fun  with all the rides especially the Rio Grande, Space Shuttle and Anchor’s away to name a few. And the bump cars which I played for more than 5 times with Ellice and Urbin. hahahaha. We ended up wet and scream our hearts out. The thrill was immeasurable. I recommend that you try it once in your life.
