Back to the Graveyeard shift!!

09Nov 234AM

The rain is falling on my rooftop while i'm enjoying my fresh cut of cheese after a long period of saying "NO" to it. The mayo and the loaf bread is a perfect  combo for that sandwich that i've been craving for weeks now. I'm just devastated with my whole weekend. I was looking forward for the "tagay" sunday night but it turned out that it's not gonna happen due to a "last minute" cancellation. That's very disappointing on my end knowing that I've been following it up since Saturday and I've been looking forward to it since last week. You never told me that you have other plans so at least I could change my sched and maximize my time perhaps see Ellen for dinner. I felt like the reasons you gave me a while ago are pure BS because you exactly knew this plan way back. With due respect, I think YOU'RE TAKING ME FOR GRANTED NOW. But on this game, I'm a default loser and one wrong move could cost me everything including you. See, I'm still waiting for your reply. i hope we can talk. And when we do, let's be sincere and honest to ourselves. We're grown up people and all I've asked from you is a little respect and attention. That's all and I shall have my peace.

08NOv 1110AM.

We'll quite frankly i'm not completely happy with how my day has gone so far. Though i'm happy that Ellen arrived safely this morning from Singapore, part of me is still worried about you. You havn't texted me though I sent you 2 messages already. i don't want to sent you more messages since it may annoy you. I'm just concerned with how you're doing and I guess if you're out of load then you can borrow a phone from one of your friends.

It's still 11am, and things could change any minute. I'm still waiting for that text assuming you're still asleep or still on the road on your way home. We have plans for tonight remember? Just like our previous plan, it never worked if no follow up or no text confirmation affirming the plan is good to go. I'm still positive that things will go as plan since i have all the materials ready. You knew that I look forward to it since last Sunday and it keeps me working through the week. Canceling it is just one-way of breaking my heart.

[26SEPT]-I'LL DEFINITELY MISS YOU!!

You've always been my life's inspiration. I know it's hard but it's time to let go now. I guess I need to be strong and brave the wind. I'm a FIGHTER but we all have breaking points. If ever I fail i'll think of you and the joy you brought to my life. My dreams are simple that's why I need you to be a part of it.

=====
9SEPT- So it's officially a Wednesday and another round of public holiday. A while ago I was stunned by the tonnes of paperwork i need to finish and my lack of direction on where to start and what to-do next. I met Ellen in Coffee dream around 11pm. So good to see her in person and her photos of France was exceptional. I envy her state visits. Later we'll have our first family road trip down south. It's be exciting with the kids. The finale will be attending the birthday celebration of my Uncle Alee in the town of Malabuyoc. No time to sleep and more time to have FUN. I'll catch my nap in the car. The weather just turned cloudy. i hope the sun will be out later.

12SEP- 3 more hours to go and I'm of the office. It's my day-off and I hope I'll do a lot of things over the weekend that will be productive.

15SEP - Less than 2 hours more to go and i'm on my way home. Basically i'm up and running but tired and needs rest. For today, i'm trying to be more productive by ensuring that i'm able to deliver more. i'm sure when I get home I'll be lurking on facebook & twitter again. hahaha This week is a bit exciting. New things happen and it keeps me going. Let us say i'm a little inspired and I know everyone needs a little bit of inspiration. What I have right now is enought for me. Thanks!!
16-SEPT-I just had my first interview in 3 years. It was a fun interview. I was open about my past and experiences. I've shown my enthusiasm to the new account. Suddenly, my day is complete.

17-SEPT-HR Consulting team had an early lunch out tonight. We ate at Tara's in Skyrise 3. That was my first time there and I ate chimichanga. Back to the office and there I was issuing PCF left and right. i hope everything will be fine coz somebody told me thaty i'm already 'markado' on the floor-notorious of terminating people w/c is not true.

18-Sept I'm doing some serious backtracking of those who complied and didn't complied about their pre-employment requirements.

18-SEPT( Late night) i had a great sleep this afternoon. I woke up around 5pm and it's raining outside. Now, I'm very confident that my day will end well and I can focus on more pressing matters that I need to address. BTW, tomorrow is my day-off and that will go on until Monday. I'm planning to do some photoshot but things are still unclear. I badly need to go out there and take some shots to share. Right now, I'm about to draft the things that i need to resolve. I'm looking forward to a very productive and inspiring day. Things should be better this time and I want to smile even more.

[-22-SEPT-My body is still aching. After that worked out session last Sunday morning I felt leaner and more agile. I made it, even though i have a cough. I even blame my sickness to the sudden lack of PRT. It was a good session. The next day my chest, my biceps & my legs were swollen. I took the remaining days to rest and complete my home project-the Christmas balls for my Christmas tree. Cutting the silver dust out of a tin foil is a back breaking tasks. but it was fun especially when you see the finish product. I'll hang them together with the other decors. Theme for this years will be WHITE CHRISTMAS!! I told mom to get more white curtains. I'm also checking on how to add white feathers & white flowers for the ceiling. It's a long way ahead.

[25SEPT]  I finally decided to have myself checked at maxicare this morning. Good thing i didn't wait too long to get a doctor. I also escaped the CBC & Xray which the company doctor adviced me last week. Sort of the visit this morning was a 2nd opinion so i could weight things better. So she handed me over my prescription. A couple of antibiotics w/c i need to take.i have to deal with 4 drugs in every 24 hours in the next 7 days. The first 2 drugs that i took this afternoon before i went to bed really put me to deep sleep. i'm hoping that all will be well and i don't have to see her again next week. i forgot to ask her if I can still JOG & do PRT..

===

I02SEPT- t's past midnight and i'm still up and awake. Kudos to me. i hope i'll last longer than I expected. it's my first day back on the graveyard shift and it's really not easy. Less than 6 hours more to go and i'll be home. i'm still not sure how to spend the rest of my time through the day. My utmost priority is 6 hours of good sleep. Leizel ext. 24834
We enjoyed our breaks just a while ago with Leizel and the rest of the former morning crew.

02SEPT 10PM- The sleeping part that happened this morning was very questionable. i moved my sleeping area near the veranda and covered my eyes with nap pad. i thought i wasn't really 100% asleep. i woke up around 2pm and from then i couldn't pull myself back to deep slumber. Perhaps i'm on the adjustment period & I hope i'll get better sleep in the coming days.

03SEPT 243AM. I can't describe how sleepy I am right now. i'm losing my balance and focus. All I wanted to do know is to lie flat, shut my eyes and start dreaming. i felt a bit sleepy when I was in the morning shift but the feeling is not the same. My world is goin on a slow-motion.

04SEPT-i just arrived from our weekly HR meeting. i noticed that most of the leads or managers are attending con-calls. Such a busy day for all of us and that will keep us all occupied. My goal today is to finish all the warnings and print them out coz i know I need to issue another warning for non-compliance on the annual physical exam.

My Week in Motion

24AUG-Just started our calll-out brigade for those who resigned from the company. i already spoke to 2 agents already. Tomorrow I'll report early-6am to issue PCF and continue the call outs. I just attended my first admin hearing as an observant

25-AUG-I just attended a 2 hours seminar about Finance Management by Mary Valero. For me, it's an awakening about how I am in terms of my financial stability. I realized a lot of things a the seminar went on."Your Money Matter" as stated on the module.

26-AUG-I slept late last night. Surfing addiction has taken a toll on me. I guess it's nice that our connection is always down from 6pm to 1030pm.
I have that time to myself, to my family & I can do whatever i like. It seems to me that when I'm online the world closes out on me. I'm happy that my torrent has been connected and has been transferring datas.
I miss watching movies & TV shows. Maybe when Ellen returns from Europe I'll ask her out to watch G.I.Joe.

27-AUG-I started my day printing a lot of materials only to find out that i need to reprint a new copy due to typographical errors. I'm concern with papers being wasted and its impact to the environment.  Now, i know how to process NTE issuance for awol that needs to be mailed. Minnie visited Bay 2 with Bam2x and we were introduced to her husband Roy. It's a Thursday and tomorrow will be our weekly meeting.

28-Aug-I woke up this morning feeling weak and thirsty. After I waited for over an hour last night, finally my connection was stable and there I was surfing the web again 'til it hit 1130pm. After I woke up I checked the status of my download but it's too difficult for me to stay away from surfing-let alone my farmville's very attractive farmscapes and fruitful trees on the edge of my productive virtual farm. At 8am i joined mom on the breakfast table. Then i went on to help on the house chores and bought a tank of gas. Around 1pm I left home after catching some nap. My shift today is from 3pm to 12mn. I envy Tin Pagaran as she flies to the enchanting Kota Kinabalu (for the 2nd time) while my friend Ellen is on her last day on training in Geneva and will leave for Cebu the next day.

Last Week in REVIEW

Manic Monday-17AUG09
After a relaxing weekend, i'm back in the office. For this week I only need to work for 4 days since Friday is a holiday so I'm looking forward to my 3 days off to cap the week. Just a while ago, i've updated HR's compliance tracker. Then, for tomorrow I need to be early to issue at least 10 pending PCFs and make sure that I'll finish all pending papers by Wednesday and all i need to do is exert more EFFORT. I'm also excited for the arrival of my Lacoste Challenge perfume sample. I have the tracking number so I can track it's location. Later tonight I hope I can watch Street Fighter or read some e-book about photography and Photoshop. i'm also downloading a lot of stuffs online. Any movies you'd like to suggest? I like comedy films & action movies. Please twitter me your suggestion twitter.com/lesreyes1

Early Tuesday-18 Aug
In an effort to curb down the numbers of PCFs I came in early today at 6am. I was able to issue a lot of PCFs to agents with lacking pre-employment requirements. I woke up around 430am. Surprisingly, the jeepney ride to the office was easy compared to the 7am schedule. So I arrived in the office around 545am. So I was able to achieved my goal for the day already. Now I'm sleepy after eating my lunch with Marge at the pantry. I'll be out of the office by 3pm. Btw, Ellen left for Paris today via Amsterdam on KLM. I so envy her Euro trip.

Wednesday-19Aug almost 3pm
I braved the heat this afternoon as I made my way to the office from the City Hall. The afternoon heat was so bad I can carely stand on it. The jeepney ride was slow and humid. If not only for the community tax certificate I would not bother going there-at all.

Thur: 20AUG2009
After yesterday's extremely hot weather now I awkwardly walk through the rain. I might have missed the afternoon forecast but I clearly remember that the noontime forecast shows the sun with no apparent thunderstorm sign. Then all of a sudden the rain fell and it almost trapped me but I made it to the office-wet as i make my way slowly towards Gorordo Avenue. I submitted my loan application today. I must embrace the fact that I'm in recession but I'm slowly making my way out of it. In fact, I put on hold some of my travel plans until the end of the year. I'm positive that I'll swing to profit and will soon be flying out of Cebu for vacation.

Long HIATUS is OVER!!

It's almost 2 years since i last visited my own site. I have to say that I miss it at some point and now i'm working my way to know to new processes that webs.com installed. It seems that I was so behind with all the updates and all I have to do is to catch up.

It's August and I'm sure most of us are looking forward for December in anticipation of the big-fat bonus and the lavish parties. Their might be less reasons to celebrate 2009 but we can't let the RECESSION ruin our celebration. TIME to GET CREATIVE!! Besides, this year is worth remembering.

The Memoirs of Geylang and Khao San

BOUND FOR SINGAPORE

I couldn't compare my Singapore and Bangkok adventures to my other trips before. The memories and the journey itself was so memorable.

It was a Monday and I woke up around 3am just to come in early to the office so I can go home by 2pm and get my bags. I had my blue Benetton trolley with me and a small bag fo the 5day trip. I was sweating all over and I was very excited. To drive the drowsiness away I took a cup of my fave hot yellow tea. The farewell was simple. I already prepared enough to keep the trip going. That was my first international trip and I can’t wait to see what’s going to happen next. We arrived past 4pm after I picked up Ced in Ayala and Dee (who just flew in from Manila) was waiting for us at the International wing of Mactan airport. Then Jessa and her ate Bing showed up after a few minutes. Then we checked-in around 520pm. Boarding was swift and the plane took off past 8pm. The flight was smooth and we arrived in Singapore before midnight. Our arrival at the Budget terminal coincides with Tiger Airways. The airport was well-lit and has enough space with high ceilings. Walls were decorated with metal deco and painted in bright colors. I was wide awake and the sleepiness was gone as we approached immigration. Security was tight inside the terminal. Picture taking is not allowed. A purser will guide you on what counter to proceed. The officer just sat silently and never murmurs a single word. My officer didn’t even smile or gave a nod. After immigration we found our bag on the conveyor belt. Taxi’s were waiting outside. We have our address handy and Mel was already notified that we’re in Singapore. We arrived at the hotel past midnight. The driver charged us 23SGD as he drove like a Ferrari driver on the freeway with a top notched of 120MPH. Our room was small and it has a view of the financial district. The Singapore Flyer was visible from our view. We slept around 2am after we settled down.

We woke up around 7am and I’ve never been that excited to explore the city. The coffee was bitter but thanks to the Cheese cake of Dee it keeps me going through the day. We met Mel in Dee’s room. First stop is the Esplanade. This Durian shape structure is the country’s premier performing arts venue. Across the Singapore river is the most popular tourist icon- the Merlion. A bigger Merlion can also be found in the island of Sentosa. After walking for almost 30 minutes we ate at Popeye’s Singapore’s version of Jollibee.  Then we proceed to the Singapore Flyer the world largest observatory even bigger than the London Eye. The entrance fee is 29SGD and the structure was very new as it was opened this year only. We really had a great time since the ride was almost 30 minutes as capsule slowly moves you to the top and gives you an awesome view of the city.

Walking was the best way to explore Singapore. We did that several times and you’ll really appreciate the little details of the city by strolling its blocks and corners. So we went back to the Esplanade and a passage below it will lead you to a MRT station. We catch anther ride to Bibo City and from there we took another train ride to Sentosa Island. A huge replica is waiting for us. Then we move up and found ourselves in love with the LUGE, a down hill cart ride which so amazing. We we’re addicted so we tried it the 2nd time with Jessa. It’s 10SGD per ride with 1 skyride which is similar to a lift ski riders to go to the top of the mountain. Jessa was really scared but it’s worth a try. We also had our snack at deliverance. I got my self a bottomless iced tea with a chicken sandwich as we enjoyed it with the ocean view of Seloso Beach. This resort is one of the few beaches you can find in Singapore. It has white sands but the area is only small. The area was also home to a lot of free roaming peacocks. A free transport bus is provided to go up and down with a mandatory stop in every location. The finally of the day is to experience the Cable Car. It was my first ride ever and I was so amazed by the sunset view. We also had our souvenir shot of the PINAKA-FAMILY before boarding the car. The day was blast. We had dinner at Kopitiam. Finally I had rice on my meal which I’ve been missing for more than 24 hours. Then we took a cab back to our hotel in Geylang. I was tired but happy. The days activity was enough for me to judge Singapore the way it should be-CLEAN, ORGANIZE and not cheap.

We started our 2nd day in the city with the search for the ultimate breakfast. We wanted something that's affordable so the nearby stalls of Geyland offers a variety of meal from Chinese food, Halal food and everything in between.  Then we checked out of the hotel and proceed to Mel’s place in Tampines. It’s a series of apartments or condo-like properties that people can rent and lived-in. It’s well organized, clean and peaceful. We initially left our luggage and went to Bugis where we shopped for out souvenirs after eating something at Burger king. Then we took a cab back to Mel’s place and proceed to the airport after we picked up our luggages.

BANGKOK BOUND

Finally I got a glimpsed of the world famous Changi Airport-home of Singapore Airlines A380 flagship carrier. That day we’re bound for Bangkok, Thailand on THAI AirAsia. The only difference here is that when you enter the terminal you will not be screened or checked nor luggages will be x-rayed for any suspicious items. You simply proceed to the counter and check-in. Print outs are even not necessary as agents can locate your flight information using the name on your passport. Check-in was smooth and checked baggage was only for 5SGD. A skytrain brought us to meet Jessa’s cousin. Changi is roomier and well organized. Directional signages are everywhere & friendly security personnel’s are on standby and you can ask for assistance anytime. We almost missed our flight since we had some picture taking sessions and we forgot that its 10 minutes away before boarding and we haven’t been to immigration. But thanks to the skytrain it made our transfer faster and the people from the immigration didn’t gave us a hard time-except for Dee who lost her immigration pass. Its 15 minutes away before the gate closes so after she was cleared for immigration all of us were running towards gate D47. Luckily we made it. Thanks to the FREE SEATING policy of AirAsia we can choose whatever seat you like when you’re onboard. The Airbus320 was half-filled and everyone was tired. I chose a window seat and was worried that my digicam is acting up. After 3 hours we were in Suvarnabumi International Airport in Bangkok. AirAsia’s station is on the far side of the airport near the tarmac of Thai Airways which they park the Airbus 340-600 after they cancelled their daily nonstop service from Bangkok to JFK New York. Then we we’re transferred on a short bus ride to the arrival area where we cleared ourselves from immigration and we proceed to claim our bags. Jessa was excited and anxious to meet her boyfriend Mike for the first time. After a short introduction with him we proceed to our hotel in Bangkok city. The cityscape is similar to that of Manila. We checked-in and loved our hotel room. It was by far the best hotel room I’ve been to. The comfort room is hard to resist with its tub and shower combination. The room has LCD TV and has 2 very comfortable double beds. It has a kitchen of it's own and a complete set of utensils. Then we proceed to Khao san road to have authentic side street meal. I caught myself eating spicy Thai dishes. To satiate our appetite we ate again in KFC but to our dismay they are only serving gravy on their mashed potatoes and not on their chicken. The place is also home to a lot or bargains like Billabong shorts, t-shirts, and great souvenirs. A lot of tourists flock to this area and enjoy the night away. I know that their was an on going violence in Bangkok as reported on CNN during the time when we were that but nothing seems like it. The place is vibrant all day and rocking all night.

We spent our second day in Bangkok exploring the bustling side of the city. The breakfast was amazing as I ate all that I could to fill my stomach for the day's adventure. After a short coffee break in Starbucks we headed to Siam Paragon. We went to explore the SIAM OCEAN PARK.

  (Still under construction..)

Uniquely Singapore & Alluring Bangkok

I have my passport early this year but it never crossed my mind that I'll be out of the country before the year ends. With a lot of struggles on my job and some financial challenges, I wanted to paint an exciting picture for my friends when I return back  from my journey. My mom already approved my departure 5 days before my scheduled departure flight. I'm still clueless as to how will I look like roaming on a foreign land holding a different currency, meeting different people and exposed to another culture. My only expectation though is for me to enjoy and as an avid traveller the key to that is for me to make every moment as special as possible and as fun as possible for everyone.

When asked why Singapore I simply said because it's the easiest place to go to. No visa required and it's close to the Philippines. Known to be an island state yet clean and progressive, I was also enticed by it's fusion of various Oriental cultures. I wanted to experience the uniqueness of Singapore.

After 1 day, off we go to Bangkok-the capital of Thailand. A lot of thoughts crosses my mind when I heard it's name from the movie Bangkok Haunted, Um Bak, the Thai Massage and of course THAI Airways. Just like the Philippines, it's government promoted a lot about it's culture and endless possible adventures. I've scanned a lot of images of Bangkok and it reflects a lot about the golden Budhha, the Grand Palace, the Chao Phraya river cruise, the floating market and it's Monarchy.

When I step in the Mactan International Airport by October, i'll certainly miss Cebu. It makes me feel like an OFW leaving the country for good. But not for now. I'm going on a trip for quick break and be an authentic foreigner for 5days, get my passport stamped and be interviewed my immigration.
